FOCUS appoints Jason Welham as Global Fintech & Payments Leader
London, United Kingdom (3rd June 2026) – FOCUS, an established international corporate finance advisory firm, announces the appointment of Jason Welham as Global Fintech & Payments Leader, based in the firm’s London advisory office.
Jason brings a wealth of experience in providing strategic advice in M&A and capital raising to blue-chip established and growth stage companies and investors across the fintech and payments sector globally over a 15-year period.
His appointment further strengthens FOCUS’s financial services industry expertise and comes following the launch of its UK office in late 2025, extending the firm’s presence across key global financial markets alongside locations in Europe and the USA.

About Jason Welham
Jason Welham joined FOCUS Capital Partners in November 2025 to lead the firm’s fintech and payments advisory services. Prior to FOCUS, Jason was a Director at Lazard, where he provided strategic advice to corporates and financial investors across the fintech and payments sector.
Before joining Lazard, Jason was Corporate Development Manager at VocaLink, where he led significant aspects of the transaction that resulted in the company’s sale to Mastercard, announced in 2016. Earlier in his career, he worked at a PwC, specialising in Transaction Advisory Services, advising clients across financial services, technology, media and telecommunications.
Jason is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ACA) and holds a BSc in Business Economics and Finance from Loughborough University.
